Our Stories Kröller-Müller: Van Gogh

Kröller-Müller: Van Gogh

Kröller-Müller: Van Gogh

When the fruit trees in Arles came to life every spring, Vincent van Gogh captured their delicate blossoms almost daily. He is most proud of these pink peach trees, which really exude a sense of warmth and the serenity of a spring day.

But this painting is not only beautiful. While Van Gogh was working on it, he received heartbreaking news of the death of his dear mentor Anton Mauve. Overcome with emotion, he dedicated the work as Souvenir de Mauve and sent the painting to Mauve's wife.Thereafter, the painting became a symbol to celebrate life! And in collaboration with Kröller-Müller, we have honoured that joyful spirit in a sweet pattern design. It's this design that comes to life in products that make a day more comfy.
