Socks by Rousseau (5 pairs)

Your pair of socks is inspired by the exotic jungle as the famous French painter Henri Rousseau imagined it to be in ‘The Repast of the Lion’, 1907. But guess what, he never set foot in one! Rousseau didn’t travel to Africa or South America, he didn’t embark on thrilling expeditions through the Amazon: this mesmerizing painting of a jungle came from a mix of daydreams and children’s book!

Wild and serene, that was Rousseau’s artistic style. By day, he was known as Le Douanier, practicing routine as the customs official. But by night, he transformed into a painter of magical worlds and untamed creatures that had never been seen. The impossible became possible, born from his wild imagination!
